What it actually does

HIFU sends focused ultrasound energy to a set depth beneath the skin — the same support layer a surgeon works on — without breaking the surface. That controlled heat prompts the skin to lay down new collagen, which is what firms and lifts over the months that follow.

It remodels collagen slowly, so the result builds rather than appears. Anyone promising an instant facelift from a machine is overselling it.

What to expect

A single session for most faces, delivered by a clinician who sets the depth and energy for your skin — that is a clinical decision, not a fixed setting. You will feel heat and a deep prickling during treatment, and mild tenderness for a few days after.

When we say no

If your laxity is significant, surgery gives a better result and we will refer you rather than take the booking. We review your result at twelve weeks, because that is when the collagen change actually shows.
